One of the world's great restaurant-hotels, La Colombe d'Or has long been one of the finest places to dine in the South of France. Probably most famous for its regular artist visitors such as Matisse, Braque, Léger, Calder, César et al who have left magnificent works in the establishment that patrons continue to enjoy, this is not an easy place to secure a table at, so an advance reservation would be advised. The food, ambience and service, in contrast to much of the Bouji insufferableness of the Cote d'Azur, is tip top and defiantly old school. If you want to put anything on Instagram you might (and definitely should) be told to shove your phone where the sun don't shine.
The wonderful hand-painted colourful menu.
