Motown

Visiting Hitsville in Detroit, where Motown operated and where so many of the incredible records by Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye et al were made was one of the most inspiring and uplifting experiences of my life. It made me remember why I want to be a singer songwriter. It’s not because of the drivel that’s currently in the charts. It’s because of those melodic, soulful, joyous songs that brought the world together and changed music forever. The influence Motown has on my songwriting is enormous. Berry Gordy is also a true icon for any aspiring entrepreneur like me. I only have good things to say about Detroit.
