Final Farewell Yellow Brick Road concert in Stockholm
So good to be there with our dear friend and favourite customer, Nigel Olsson, at the final two dates of the Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour this weekend in Stockholm. Nigel has been playing drums and singing in the Elton John Band since 1969, along with the late, great Dee Murray on bass guitar and backing vocals. They started as a three piece band and conquered America with the infamous show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles in August 1970. The wonderful Davey Johnstone started playing with them from the Madman Across The Water album in 1972, completing the band that created the “Elton John Sound” across Rocket Man, Bennie and the Jets, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting, I’m Still Standing and all the many other big hit records. To say Nigel, Davey, the late Dee and many other EJ band members deserve a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction would be a monumental understatement.
